PHYSIO IN CARLINGFORD
Kinesio and Rigid Taping
Do we do taping? Yes of course, not just one... but two! At X10 physio, we use both rigid and kinesio taping (K-Tape) in our treatment plans. Based in Carlingford, we serve clients in surrounding areas including Ryde, Chatswood, Eastwood, Denistone and more, making professional exercise prescriptions accessible to all in Sydney.
What’s the difference between Kinesio and Rigid Taping?
Good Question. Rigid taping is typically what you see around ankles and shoulders of Rugby players. The tape itself is stiff with a bit of flexibility, and is used to prevent excessive range of motion. Patients who require more stability at ankles, knees, necks or shoulders benefit from the stiffness of the tape.

Our trained physiotherapists are able to tape your joints in a more stable position depending on what your needs are.

The other tape we use is K-tape. Unlike rigid taping, K-tape is flexible and isn’t designed to keep joints stiffer. K-tape works by increasing your joint awareness. Sometimes, patients don’t need more stiffness at a joint – what they need is the feeling of where it is. This is more related to co-ordination tasks like tennis, or power movements like jumping and sprinting.

Both taping methods work for different reasons, and your physio will be able to recommend which one best suits your individual needs.

If you are after a 5-star healthcare provider for your injuries, schedule an appointment with our experienced practitioners to help you fast-track your recovery. Serving not just Carlingford, but also Ryde, Chatswood, Eastwood, Denistone, and surrounding areas in Sydney, I am committed to delivering high-quality, individualised treatment plans for a variety of needs.
