Hip or groin pain when running, squatting or sitting?
If you’re experiencing hip or groin pain when walking, running, squatting, kicking, twisting, sitting or changing direction, physiotherapy can help. You may also notice pinching, aching, tightness, sharp pain, stiffness, reduced mobility or discomfort that worsens with activity.

Common hip and groin injuries we treat:

-
Femoroacetabular impingement: Femoroacetabular impingement, often called FAI, can cause pinching pain in the front of the hip, especially with deep squats, sitting, running or changing direction. Physio can help improve hip strength, movement control and activity modification.
-
Hip labral irritation or tears: Labral issues may cause deep hip or groin pain, clicking, catching or pain with twisting movements. Physiotherapy focuses on improving hip control, strength, mobility and reducing aggravating positions.
-
Glute, adductor and hip flexor strains: Muscle strains around the hip and groin can happen during sport, sprinting, kicking, lifting or sudden changes in direction. Rehab helps restore strength, flexibility and confidence before returning to activity.
-
Femur stress fractures: Stress fractures can cause deep, persistent pain that worsens with impact activity. These require proper medical assessment and careful load management before returning to running or sport.
-
Athletic pubalgia: Athletic pubalgia can cause groin or lower abdominal pain, often linked to sport, kicking, sprinting or repeated twisting. Treatment usually focuses on strength, control, gradual loading and return-to-sport planning.

How X10 Physio can help with your Hip & Groin Pain
At x10 physio, we use a 3-step process to treat hip and groin pain. I believe recovery is more than just getting rid of pain — it’s about helping you move, perform, and live at your best. Whether you’re an athlete, a busy professional, or simply tired of recurring injuries, I’ll guide you through a proven process that gets you back to doing what you love — stronger than before.
01.
Listen & Identify
We start with your story.
Just stretch it your hip flexors... is the most common groin advice you’ll hear. But did you know that sometimes this makes hip problems worse? The problem isn’t the stretch, it’s your story. At x10 physio, all groin issues start with a detailed chat where we understand all the factors that led to your injury. We understand what you’ve tried, what you haven’t, what other treatment you’ve had and then we move onto step 2.
UNDERSTAND YOUR PAIN.
CHANGE YOUR ENVIRONMENT.
PREVENT RE-INJURY.
02.
Assess & Explain
Find the root cause — fast.
Our physio will use your story as a detailed guide to the assessments they’ll do. Using special physiotherapy tests, we’ll determine the cause of your symptoms and we’ll explain what’s happened back to you. Only after you are clear on what’s happened, will we explain how we can get you better. At this point, you will be asked how far along the rehabilitation journey you’d like us to get you to.
CLARITY BUILDS CONFIDENCE
— AND CONFIDENCE ACCELERATES RECOVERY.
Treat & Rebuild
03.
Recover. Strengthen. Future-proof.
You’re on your own after that... is what we definitely won’t say. For most cases, you can expect hands on treatment for pain management, and a personalised home exercise program (but if you don’t do it, you can tell us too – we'll find a way to get you better!). Groin pain can be chronic and complex, which is why we will assess your progress every session and make changes along the way.
MOVE PAIN-FREE. STAY STRONG.
NEVER LOOK BACK.
This is the X10 Physio Approach — Recover fully. Move freely. Live confidently.
