Ankle or foot pain when walking, running or standing?
If you’re experiencing ankle or foot pain when walking, running, standing, pushing off, climbing stairs or returning to sport, physiotherapy can help. You may also notice swelling, bruising, heel pain in the morning, stiffness, weakness, instability or repeated rolling of the ankle.

Common ankle and foot injuries we treat:

-
ATFL and lateral ankle ligament sprains: Lateral ankle sprains are common after rolling the ankle. They can cause pain, swelling, stiffness and reduced balance. Rehab focuses on restoring movement, strength, balance and return-to-sport confidence.
-
Medial ankle ligament sprains: Affects the inside of the ankle and may occur with twisting or impact injuries. Treatment often includes pain management, mobility work, strengthening and stability exercises.
-
Plantar heel pain: Pain under the heel, especially with first steps in the morning or after long periods on your feet. Physio can help with load management, calf and foot strengthening, footwear advice and gradual return to activity.
-
Retrocalcaneal bursitis: Pain at the back of the heel, often aggravated by running, shoes or uphill walking. Treatment may include load modification, calf strengthening, mobility work and footwear advice.
-
Ankle and foot fractures: After a fracture, physiotherapy can help restore movement, strength, walking confidence and return to activity once medically cleared.

At x10 physio, we use a 3-step process to treat ankle and foot pain. I believe recovery is more than just getting rid of pain — it’s about helping you move, perform, and live at your best. 01.
Listen & Identify
We start with your story.
Would you believe us if we told you some ankle pain can start simply because you had a recent change in footwear, you were on a long flight... or just because you tripped in a pothole? Ankle pain can be complicated, but most often the answers are found in your story. That’s why at x10 physio, all ankle treatment begins by taking an in-depth history of your case. Using this information, we move onto step 2.
UNDERSTAND YOUR PAIN.
CHANGE YOUR ENVIRONMENT.
PREVENT RE-INJURY.
02.
Assess & Explain
Find the root cause — fast.
Once we understand your story, we move straight to special tests that will help us understand the cause of your issues. By understanding the cause, we will create a plan tailored toward your condition and your goals. After we have a clear picture of what’s going on and what your rehab needs to be, we will explain it back to you so you understand exactly how you will get better.
CLARITY BUILDS CONFIDENCE
— AND CONFIDENCE ACCELERATES RECOVERY.
Treat & Rebuild
03.
Recover. Strengthen. Future-proof.
With your approval of the plan, we will begin treatment. In the early stage of rehab, we use a mix of hands on work like deep tissue massage, lymphatic drainage and dry needling to settle symptoms. As symptoms settle, we will rebuild your strength with specific exercises so you can make a full recovery – whether it’s back to daily commutes or performance in your sport.
MOVE PAIN-FREE. STAY STRONG.
NEVER LOOK BACK.
This is the X10 Physio Approach — Recover fully. Move freely. Live confidently.
